President of Turkmenistan conducts a video conference

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov conducted a video conference with the heads of ministries and departments, khyakims of Ashgabat and velayats. The meeting agenda focused on the progress in implementing the seasonal agricultural campaigns as well as social and economic changes.

Velayat Khyakims reported on the existing situation in the regions, on the measures taken to prepare thoroughly for the cotton harvesting campaign as well as winter crops sowing campaign.

It was also reported on the preparations for the beginning of the new academic year. In particular, a new secondary school designed for 620 pupils will be put into operation in Baharly Etrap, Ahal Velayat, a new secondary school designed for 940 children, sports school designed for 350 young sportsmen and three new kindergartens were built in Tedjen.

Six new schools will open their doors in Dashoguz on the first of September. 510 schools in the region are ready for the new academic year. The project of a new boarding school designed for 420 children to be built in Dashoguz Velayat was presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration. Three new schools and three new kindergartens will be opened in Lebap Velayat.

Commenting on the report presented by Ashgabat Khyakim Sh. Durdylyev, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said that particular attention should be paid to the issues regarding planting trees and cleanness of streets, arrangement of green spaces in the Turkmen capital. The Turkmen leader demanded the Ashgabat Khyakim to ensure the well-coordinated work of communal services that was a major requirement for the fulfilment all assigned tasks to beautify the capital.

Then the floor was given to Chairman of the Central Bank of Turkmenistan T. Japarov, who reported on the work done in order to widen and enhance the fruitful cooperation with the world leading financial structures, and first of all the International Monetary Fund, which Turkmenistan joined to in 1992.

In particular, it was reported that the IMF carried out reforms aimed at preserving stability of the international monetary system under the global financial and economic crisis. In this regard, the IMF Executive Council suggested providing financial support to IMF member states with the aim to reduce poverty and promote the economic growth.

The Turkmen leader noted that this action was based on that the state policy was founded on the principles of humanity of our ancestors and original traditions of the Turkmen people, who is ready to offer a hand to other peoples in difficult for them times. That vividly proves the high economic potential of Turkmenistan and the growth of its international authority.

Then the floor was given to Minister of Textile Industry of Turkmenistan S. Batyrov who reported on the preparations for purring the second turn of the Abadan cotton spinning mill into operation that would promote creating new jobs.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov underlined the necessity of further increasing the export potential of the industry, widening the geography of supplies and search for new business partners, clients and consumers of competitive products.

Commenting on the report presented by Chairmen of the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Sport B. Orazov, the President of Turkmenistan emphasized on the significance of wide popularization of the healthy lifestyle among local population and, in particular, involvement of youth in practicing physical culture and sports in the context of the preparations for the V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games to be held in Ashgabat in 2017.

Director General of the Turkmen Atlary State Association A. Oraznazarov reported on the progress in developing the horse breeding industry in Turkmenistan. Commenting on the report, the Turkmen leader gave particular instructions to A. Oraznazarov regarding development of equestrian sport in the country.

Then the floor was given to Chairman of the Turkmenavtoyollary State Concern P. Meredov who reported on the progress of work in the sphere of modernization of the motor transport infrastructure of the country, including construction of the new highways Ashgabat-Turkmenbashi and Ashgabat-Mary.

It was also reported on the preparations for putting a 215-meter road bridge across the Karakum River built by the Turkmenavtoyollary State Concern into operation.

Chairman of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan A. Hodjamgulyev reported on the existing situation in the sphere under his supervision. In particular, it was reported on the measures taken to ensure the proper customs examination of cargoes crossing the border of the country as well as the work done on construction and modernization of facilities of the customs infrastructure.

During the video conference President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed the Resolution on construction of a new customs terminal in Ak Bugday Etrap in Ahal Velayat that would promote increasing the efficiency of work of this Service.
