President of Turkmenistan conducts a video conference

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov conducted a video conference with the heads of ministries and departments of the country and khyakims of velayats and Ashgabat.

The meeting agenda focused on the priority tasks related to the progress in implementing the seasonal agricultural campaigns, including cotton picking campaign as well as the work of some industries of the national economy of the country, in particular implementation of relevant programmes aimed at further dynamic socio-economic development of the country and construction of objects to be put into operation in near future.

The heads of the administrative regions reported on the work carried out in agricultural fields, in particular the winter wheat sowing campaign, cotton picking campaign as well as improvement of the organizational level of agricultural works. The velayat Khyakims informed the Turkmen leader on the measures taken to develop the social spheres in regions, preparations for the new academic year and festive events dedicated to the 21th anniversary of independence of Turkmenistan. Moreover, the projects on construction of railways in Lebap Velayat were presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration.

Commenting on the reports, the President of Turkmenistan instructed the relevant officials to take all necessary measures to accelerate the paces of the cotton picking campaign, complete the winter wheat sowing campaign in time and efficiently use the agricultural equipment engaged in the sowing campaign. The Turkmen leader gave specific instructions to organize the seasonal works in the cattle-breeding sector of the region.

Noting that timely settlement of accounts with grain growers will ensure the well-organised work of the cotton picking campaign and will offer a powerful incentive for further increase of labour productivity, the Turkmen leader underlined the necessity of proper organization of this work with local branches of the Dayhanbank State Commercial Bank.

Ashgabat Khyakim Sh. Durdylyyev reported on the work done on implementation of the architectural and urban planning programme in the Turkmen capital.

Focusing on the issue of improvement of the living conditions among the local population, the Turkmen leader underlined the significance of modernizing the relevant engineering networks and facilities, roads and other structural systems. In this context, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that particular attention should be paid to the issues regarding planting trees and cleanness of streets, arrangement of green spaces in the Turkmen capital.

During the meeting Chairman of the Turkmengallainumleri Association Ya. Charyev reported on the progress in implementing the seasonal sowing campaigns and the work done to settle accounts with grain growers. Minister of Water Industry S. Taganov reported on the work done to supply water to agricultural fields and drinking water to local population.

Minister of Railway Transport of Turkmenistan B. Annameredov, Acting Miniater of Motor Transport M. Gurbandurdyev and Head of the Turkmenhowayollary State National Service M. Ayazov reported on the existing situation in the transport sphere.

Commenting on the reports, the Turkmen leader severely reprimanded the Minister of Railway Transport of Turkmenistan for low paces of construction of steel main lines and demanded to take the appropriate measures to increase the quality of services provided to local population.

Underlining that the share of motor transport in the internal and external freight turnover steadily increases, the Turkmen leader emphasized on the importance of taking the successive measures in order to ensure modernization of the relevant infrastructure and prompt solution of all problems.

Noting that air transport plays an important role in national and world economy as well, the Turkmen leader underlined that the work of the air transport industry should satisfy the best international standards.

Then the floor was given to Minister of Labour and Social Security B. Shamyradov, who reported on the measures taken to implement the state policy in the sphere of employment and social security.

The Minister also reported on the preparations for participation in the UNECE Ministerial Conference on Ageing organized by the Economic Commission for Europe and the Government of the Republic of Austria in Vienna (Austria) on 19-20 September 2012. The Conference will be held under the motto “Ensuring a society for all ages: Promoting quality of life and active ageing”. Representatives of government agencies and experts from different countries of the world will discuss general issues related to ageing.

Commenting on the report, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that our country had always prioritized concern about elder generation as a key aspect of the social policy, which is based on the ancestral values and age-old wise traditions of the Turkmen people.

Then the floor was given to Chairman of the Supreme Control Chamber of Turkmenistan B.Atdaev, who reported on the existing situation in the sphere under his supervision as well as on fulfillment of the Turkmen leader’s instructions.

Summing up the vide conference, the President of Turkmenistan underlined that successful implementation of the large-scale changes taken place in all sectors of the national economy of Turkmenistan, would further strengthen the economic power of the country, well-being and prosperity of the Turkmen people.
