President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and members of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan expressed their condolences over the untimely death of Honoured Elder of Turkmenistan, Deputy Chairman of the Elders Council of Turkmenistan, and Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan Myrat Orazgulyevich Garryev, who left this world on August 28, 2012, in his 81st year.
In 1957-1996 Myrat Garryev held various positions in the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan as well as in the system of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan. In 1996-2011 Myrat Orazgulyevich honourably worked as the Vice Chairman of the Council for Religious Affairs under the President of Turkmenistan, Chairman of the Central Commission for Elections and Referenda of Turkmenistan, and since May 2011 – Vice Chairman of the Elders Council of Turkmenistan.
For the outstanding services for the Homeland Myrat Garryev was awarded with honorary titles, including the Honoured Elder of Turkmenistan, the Honoured Worker of Science and Technologies of Turkmenistan, as well as medals - Watana Bolan Soygusi Uchin, Turkmenistanyn Garashsyzlygyn 20 Yyllygyna, Gayrat, and orders – Galkynysh, Bitaraplyk, Garashsyz Turkmenistana Bolan Beyik Soygusi Uchin, Altyn Asyr, and President Yyldyzy.
