President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan. The meeting agenda focused on the issues related to various spheres of the state policy life and the drafts of a number of important documents.
Vice Premiers reported on the existing situation in the sectors under their supervision. In particular, it was reported on the preparations for the working visit of the Government delegation led by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the Islamic Republic of Iran to take part in the 16th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement, on the work carried out by the institutions of the oil and gas complex, chemical and fish industries, on the situation in the spheres of transport and communication.
It was also reported on the outcomes of the 5th sitting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Kazakh Commission for economic, scientific, technological and cultural cooperation, on the forthcoming sittings of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Ukrainian Commission for economic cooperation, the joint Turkmen-Uzbek Commission for trading and economic, scientific, technological and cultural cooperation, the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Armenian Commission for economic cooperation, the visit of the deputies of the National Parliament of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Turkey as well as on the preparations for the 55th sitting of the Economic Council of the CIS members states to be held in Ashgabat on September 14.
The Vice Premiers reported on the progress in implementing agricultural campaigns, in particular the cotton picking campaign started in Dashoguz Velayat, on the measures taken to preserve, study and restore the historical and cultural monuments, the work done by the institutions of the financial and banking system, the preparations for the complete population and housing census scheduled for December 15-26.
The Turkmen leader was also informed on the progress in implementing the state social policy, developing science, education, healthcare, sports and tourism, as well as on the preparations for the IV International Computer Projects Contest among schoolchildren in Ashgabat, on participation of five Turkmen sportsmen in summer Paralympic Games started in London.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed the Resolution “On organization of exhibitions, fairs, scientific conference and festivals by ministries and sectoral departments in 2013”, on approving the Regulations on the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Industry of Turkmenistan.
Then the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan continued with participation of the members of the State Security Council. The heads of the security, defence and law enforcement agencies reported on the existing situation in the spheres under their supervision, on the progress in implementing the Military Doctrine taken place in the country, on the measures taken to ensure the social and public stability. In particular, it was reported on foundation of a Naval Institute and preparations for the Khazar-2012 tactical exercises.

In particular, the Turkmen leader demanded the relevant officials to pay significant attention to maintenance of a public order, strengthening of peace and stability in the region as well as patriotic education of military personnel increasing their professionalism and skills.
