President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received the Chairman of Executive Committee – the CIS executive secretary Sergey Lebedev arrived in Ashgabat for participation in the International Conference “Oil and gas of Turkmenistan” and forthcoming tomorrow 55th meeting of the CIS Economic Council, being organized by Turkmenistan within the framework of its chairmanship in the Commonwealth of Independent States in 2012.
In the course of the meeting, the President of Turkmenistan and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States also discussed wide spectrum of issues concerning prospects of further interaction on CIS space in a series of other vital trends, including in cultural and humanitarian spheres. As it was noted, VII Forum of the creative and scientific intelligentsia of CIS member countries to be held on October 15-16 in Ashgabat on the initiative of the Turkmen party is urged to play significant role in strengthening of ties in this traditional sphere.
