President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov conducted a video conference with the cabinet ministers, the heads of ministries and departments and the velayat khyakims.
The video conference agenda focused on seasonal agricultural activities as well as the tasks of the socio-economic policy of the state and the progress in implementing the priority national programmes.
Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan A. Nurberdieva reported on the work carried out by Mejlis deputies to improve the national legislation as well as on the preparations for the next sitting of the Elders’ Council of Turkmenistan.
Chief Executive Officer of the Elders’ Council of Turkmenistan G. Myradov presented the draft of the Resolution “On the issues of the Elders’ Council of Turkmenistan” to the Turkmen leader for consideration. It was also reported on the preparations for elections of the Vice Chairman of the Elders’ Council of Turkmenistan.
Underlining that today this ancient unique institute of democracy makes a significant contribution to developing and strengthening the democratic processes in the country, supporting the progressive social and economic changes, the Turkmen leader signed the Resolution on the Elders’ Council of Turkmenistan.
Reporting on the existing situation in the sectors under their supervision Vice Premiers informed the Turkmen leader on the preparations for the festivities on occasion of the Independence Day. The agenda of the fourth meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Belarusian Commission for economic cooperation to be held in Minsk on September 19-22 was presented to the President of Turkmenistan for consideration.
Organizational issues related to the work of the State Committee for Sports and the State Committee for Tourism were discussed during the meeting. Particular attention was paid to the issues of strengthening the material and technical basis of the health care system, and construction of new enterprises of the medical industry.
Emphasizing on the further development of the power industry with the aim to ensure uninterrupted supply of electric power to the Turkmen capital, the President of Turkmenistan signed the Resolution “On improving the reliability of electric power supply to Ashgabat”.
Then the floor was given to Vice Premier B. Hodjamuhammedov who reported on the progress in implementing the Programme on development of the oil and gas complex, chemical industry and fish industry of Turkmenistan for 2012-2016.
Chairman of the State Service of Maritime and River Transportation of Turkmenistan M.Mutdikov reported on the existing situation in the departments affiliated to the industry as well as on the progress in implementing the projects on reconstruction and modernization of the International Sea Port in Turkmenbashi.
Commenting on the report the President of Turkmenistan expressed dissatisfaction with the low paces of implementation of the projects stipulated by the General Plan of development of the Turkmenbashi International Sea Port and the Merchant Marine of Turkmenistan till 2020 and severely reprimanded Chairman of the State Service of Maritime and River Transportation of Turkmenistan M.Mutdikov.

Minister of Nature Protection B. Annabayramov reported on the progress in implementing the large-scale environmental programmes and fulfillment of the Turkmen leader’s instructions.
Chairman of the Turkmenmallary Association D. Myratberdiyev reported on the measures taken to organize the hibernation for cattle at the high level.
The Velayat Khyakims reported on the progress of the seasonal agricultural campaigns as well as the progress in implementing the national programmes aimed at improving the social and living conditions among the local population.
Upon concluding the meeting, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov wished the participants every success in fulfilling the tasks aimed at worthy celebrating the 20th anniversary of the sacred independence and maintaining peace and stability in the Turkmen land.
