In accordance with the Constitution of Turkmenistan and Law of Turkmenistan “On military duty and military service”, the President of Turkmenistan signed a Decree on transfer to the reserve from Armed Forces, other troops of Turkmenistan of the servicemen, serving in the armed forces, and regular conscription of citizens of Turkmenistan for military service”.

According to this document, in October-December 2012, the servicemen, who served terms fixed by the law in the Armed Forces and other troops of Turkmenistan, will be transferred to the reserve. In October-December 2012, the citizens of Turkmenistan of male sex, who were 18 by conscription day and having no right for deferment from conscription, and citizens of older age, who lost a right for deferment from conscription, will be called up for military service as well.
