President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov congratulated the representatives of elder generation on the International Day of Elderly People.
International Day of Elderly People took in our life the worthy place as a holiday reflecting deep respect for people of elder generation and strengthening the unity and cohesion of our society, - noted the head of state.
Address for people on the occasion of the holiday reads: “Today, our country raised the concern about human being at the highest level. One of the major principles of the policy of Turkmen state is rendering of all-round assistance to provide favorable conditions for life and creative labor of every person as main value of the state and society, for his worthy rest. Realizing scale socio-economic reforms, our country is concerned about considerable improvement of living standards of population and first of all, people of elder generation. We attach particular significance to this work, successfully pursuing the policy, securing the observance of interests and social protection of elderly people. Elder generation enjoys numerous benefits for treatment and recreation in the sanatoriums and health resorts, health-improving and medical centers. Our country arranged effective system of allotment of the state benefits.
One of most valuable spiritual heritages left for us by our ancestors is unique ethic principles of the Turkmen people, implying respectful attitude to elder and younger generations, parents, society, and honest life. These principles, augmenting in the soul of human being the good beginnings and promoting the triumph of ideas of humanism, are the teaching that serves as foundation for improvement of social awareness. In the past and today, all these values serve and served as a large school for development of generation in the spirit of patriotism, humane and respectful attitude to each other, upbringing of high morality, honor, courage, diligence, in a word, person’s best qualities”.
