President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan to consider a number of important issues of the state policy life as well as drafts of a number of documents.
During the meeting Vice Premiers reported on the outcomes of participation of the Turkmen delegation in the 67th session of the UN General Assembly, on the preparations for the Conference on improving food security in the CIS to be held in Ashgabat on October 11, the forthcoming visits of the Government delegation of Turkmenistan led by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to France and Swiss Confederation as well as the visit of the President of Romania to Turkmenistan.
Summing up the reports, the Turkmen leader underlined the strategic character of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UN reaffirming the adherence of our country to the active participation in the international efforts to enhance the global peace and security, development of a constructive partnership in the regional and global scale.
The Turkmen leader was informed on the preparations for the next meeting of the Elders’ Council of Turkmenistan to be held in Turkmenbashi in October, on the outcomes of the working visit of the Turkmen delegation to Ukraine to take part in the next meeting of the Council of the Heads of the CIS Government and the III International Investment Business Forum “Yalta business meetings”.
It was also reported on the preparations for the forthcoming events in honour of the winners of the Türkmeniň Altyn Asyry traditional creative contest of the President of Turkmenistan, on the outcomes of the third meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Azerbaijani Commission for economic cooperation held in Ashgabat on October 4, on the preparations for the International Children’s Festival in Avaza.
The Turkmen leader was informed on the progress in implementing the seasonal agricultural activities, including the cotton picking and winter crops sowing campaigns, on the preparations for a regular meeting of the Intergovernmental Council for the CIS Agroindustrial Complex to be held in Ashgabat on October 12.
Particular attention was paid to construction of important objects and facilities, the measures taken to improve the work of the railway, motor, air, sea, river transport, the international cooperation in the fuel and energy sphere, the progress in construction of the East-West gas pipeline with the annual capacity of 30 billion cubic meters of gas. The President of Turkmenistan was informed on the progress in construction of the ore-dressing and processing enterprise in Garlyk.
President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov approved the proposal for Turkmenistan’s accession to the Egmont Group. Providing a number of remarks on the activities of foreign companies that didn’t meet their contractual obligations, failed to lag behind the schedule, the Turkmen leader instructed the Vice Premier to take all necessary measures with regard to these partners.
The other important issues were considered and relevant decisions were adopted during the meeting.
