On the final day of the official visit to Switzerland, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has a meeting with Director-General of United Nations Office at Geneva Kassym-Jomart Tokayev,
The members of the Governmental delegation of Turkmenistan and the heads of the UN structural agencies attended the meeting.
The meeting agenda focused on the prospects of mutually beneficial cooperation in the fuel and energy sphere given the huge resource potential of Turkmenistan.
Then the President of Turkmenistan accompanied by Mr. K. Tokayev headed to the Palace of Nations, where the meetings with the heads of international organisations, including Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Mr. Sven Alkalaj, UN High Commissioner for Refugees António Guterres, Secretary-General of the World Meteorological Organization Mr. Michel Jarraud, Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization Mr. Francis Gurry, Director General of the International Telecommunication Union Mr. Hamadoun Touré, took place.
In conclusion of the meetings in the Palace of Nations, the Turkmen President’s cortege headed to the residence of the Director-General of United Nations Office at Geneva, where an official dinner was given on behalf of Mr. K. Tokayev in honour of the distinguished guest.
Upon conclusion of the official reception, the cortege of the President of Turkmenistan headed to the Geneva Cointrin International Airport. The ceremony of bidding farewell to the leader of Turkmen state took place at the airport.
From the airport the Turkmen leader left for Turkmenbashi. The high ranking officials greeted the President of Turkmenistan at the Turkmenbashi airport.
