Within the framework of a working trip around Ahal Velayat President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov attended the solemn ceremony of opening new facilities in the Yzgant settlement, Geoktepe Etrap. This remarkable event symbolizes a next important step towards implementation of the large-scale national programmes on developing regions and social reforms aimed at improving the level and quality of life of the people of Turkmenistan.
The festivities with participation of cabinet ministers, heads of the ministries and departments, public organizations of the country, Turkmen and foreign diplomats, mass media, the elders and local people started at secondary school 27 named after Berdimuhamet Annaev.
Paying tribute to his grandfather, the President of Turkmenistan laid flowers to the monument to Berdimuhamet Annaev, a teacher, soldier, war veteran, who died in 1948 during a destructive earthquake in Ashgabat leaving fond memories of himself in the fellow-citizens’ hearts. A school in Yzgant, one of exemplary secondary educational establishments in the country was named after this outstanding person.
Then a colorful ceremony of opening of a rural Palace of Culture that hosts a historical and ethnographical museum, cinemas, art and sound-recording studios, rehearsal rooms as well as wedding ceremony venue, a library, internet cafe, a canteen, radio centre, rooms for hobby groups, etc. took place with participation of the President of Turkmenistan. The Turkmen leader also attended the ceremony of opening of sports complex and trading centre.
Moreover, a new administrative building of the body of local self-government was put into operation in the Yzgant settlement.
