President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov conducted a video conference with velayat and Ashgabat khyakims and the heads of a number of ministries and departments.
The meeting agenda focused on the results and tasks for implementation of the social and economic strategy of the state and priority national programmes in such spheres as education, sports and tourism. It was also reported on the progress in implementing the seasonal agricultural activities in the country, in particular the winter wheat sowing and cotton picking campaigns.
Minister of Education G. Mammedov, Chairman of the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Tourism P. Taganov and Chairman of the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Sports B. Orazov reported on the existing situation in the spheres under their supervision as well as on opening of the International Exhibition on Education, Sports and Tourism in the Epoch of Power and Happiness and a scientific conference.
Commenting on the reports, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov underlined the necessity of mastering the best world experience and progressive technologies, the methods of organization of an efficient work of the educational system, including academic and higher education.

The Turkmen leader noted that it was necessary to open new tourist routes and take measures to improve the quality of rendered services in order to increase the number of foreign tourists.
Underling the role of international cooperation in developing sports and training high-qualified Turkmen sportsmen, the Turkmen leader instructed the Chairman of the State Committee for Sports to organize an international motor car racing on Volkicar cars in Turkmenistan next year.
Commenting on the report presented by Chairman of the Turkmenmallary Association of the Cattle-Breeding Joint Stock Companies D. Myratberdiev, the President of Turkmenistan emphasized on a number of essential shortcomings in the cattle-breeding industry, in particular selection of pedigree cattle, restoration of cattle-breeding farms, etc.
Acting Minister of Motor Transport of Turkmenistan M. Gurbandurdiyev reported on the existing situation in the sphere under his supervision. Commenting on the report, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov severely reprimanded the Minister of Motor Transport of Turkmenistan for disorganized technical services of passenger buses purchased abroad and demanded the relevant officials to eliminate the shortcomings as soon as possible as well as to ensure the proper maintenance of motor equipment.
During a video conference meeting President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed a Resolution appointing Chairman of the National Committee for Hydrometeorology under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan B. Hallyev a Resident Representative of Turkmenistan in the World Meteorological Organisation.
The Velayat Khyakims reported on the existing situation in the agricultural sector in Ahal, Balkan, Dashoguz, Lebap and Mary Velayats. The heads of the regions also reported on the measures taken to improve the social and living conditions for local population as well as to prepare for the forthcoming holidays.
Underlining that the close coordination of efforts of regional authorities with relevant ministries and departments is required for successful implementation of important social and economic tasks, the President of Turkmenistan instructed the relevant officials to enhance their cooperation and develop detailed plans on the key aspects of developing territories, including construction works for the next year.
Ashgabat Khyakim Sh. Durdylyev reported on the progress in implementing an urban planning programme and developing new architectural projects as well as the measures taken to maintain cleanness and order in the city. Commenting on the report, the Turkmen leader demanded the Ashgabat Khyakim to take all necessary measures to prepare the Turkmen capital for the holidays and festivities to be celebrated in November and December.
