Meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers with the heads of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, military and law-enforcement agencies, khyakims of velayats and Ashgabat. During the meeting the drafts of documents were considered and the current tasks and important issues of the state policy were discussed.

Opening the meeting the President of Turkmenistan congratulated those present and all people of Turkmenistan on the forthcoming festivity – the Harvest Day, the holiday of generosity and wealth of the blessed Turkmen land that is widely celebrated in our country.

Then the floor was given to Vice Premiers who reported on the existing situation in the spheres under their supervision. In particular, the Turkmen leader was informed on the preparations for an official visit of the President of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Armenia scheduled for November 29-30. It was also reported on the preparations for the international forum dedicated to the 5th anniversary of opening of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia in Ashgabat and a working visit of the delegation of Turkmenistan to the Republic of France to take part in the 2nd meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-French Commission on economic cooperation on November 25-27.

The Vice Premiers reported on drafting the projects on construction of apartment buildings with improved conditions in Ashgabat, on improving the trading infrastructure of the Altyn Asyr market and the programme of cultural events dedicated to the national holidays celebrated in December and architectural premiers.

The Turkmen leader underlined the importance of thorough preparations for the national holiday – the 17th anniversary of neutrality of Turkmenistan. The President of Turkmenistan demanded the relevant official to ensure the preparations and organization of all events dedicated to this remarkable date at the high level reflecting the nature of the policy of neutrality pursued by the Turkmen state based on the universal humanistic values.

Velayat Khyakims reported on the existing situation in the agricultural industry in the regions, on the progress in implementing the seasonal agricultural activities and informed the Turkmen leader on the readiness of cattle-breeding farms for winter season.

The velayat khyakims informed the Turkmen leader on the progress of construction facilities to be put into operation till the end of the current year. The projects on construction of a boarding school with rehabilitation centre for 420 places and multisectoral markets.

The new construction projects were presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration. Among them is a drinking water purification plant in the Mukry settlement in Koytendag Etrap, Lebap Velayat, Lebap Velayat Library in Turkmenabat, water-desalinating plants in the littoral region, etc.

Reporting on the progress of seasonal field works, Vice Premier A. Yazmyradov informed the Turkmen leader that the cotton harvesting campaign was under completion in the country. It was also reported that this year 755,926 hectares were sown with winter crops.

Moreover, the Turkmen leader was informed on the results of international tenders for selection of construction of new cattle-breeding and poultry farms in different regions of the country announce by the Food Industry Association and the Turkmenmallary Association.

Among them is a modern cattle-breeding complex in Ruhabat Etrap, Ahal Velayat with annual project capacity of 700 tons of meat and 1,780 tons of dairy products to be built in Ruhabat Etrap, Ahal Velayat. A new poultry complex designed for production of eight million eggs annually will be constructed in Bereket Etrap, Balkan Velayat. Moreover, it is planned to erect poultry farms with annual production capacities of eight million eggs and 1,000 tons of meat in Bayramali Etrap, Mary Velayat.

During the meeting the President of Turkmenistan signed the Resolutions on construction of an international bus terminal and on construction of a boarding school designed for 420 students in Ashgabat.

The other issues were considered during the meeting, and the decisions were adopted.
