President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov makes a working trip round the Turkmen capital

At the request of Vice Premier A. Egeleev and Ashgabat Khyakim Sh. Durdylyev, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov made a working trip round the Turkmen capital to see the progress of construction of mud flow diversion units as well as the projects on creation of a modern urban infrastructure and improvement of the Turkmen capital.

In the morning, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov headed to the Turkmenistan Broadcasting Centre, a unique architectural construction that has no analogues in the region and has become a remarkable sight of our white-marble capital.

The Vice Premier, Ashgabat Khyakim as well as the heads of a number of ministries and departments greeted the President of Turkmenistan.

The project on construction of a modern system of mud flow diversion units was submitted to the Turkmen leader for consideration.

The total length of the main mud flow diversion channel will make up 33.6 kilometers. Of them 22.6 kilometers will be allocate to a new section to be supported by special concrete surface. Mud flows will stream down from there mountains through 12 mud flow diversion channels. 11-kilometer old channel interflowed with the Karakum River will be reconstructed using the most advanced achievements in this sphere.

The President of Turkmenistan emphasized on the priority tasks regarding construction of the mud flow diversion channel. First of all, the Turkmen leader focused on the ecological aspect of this project and underlined the importance of the coordinated work of relevant structures. The President of Turkmenistan demanded the relevant officials to keep the process of selection of construction materials under the rigorous control.

Moreover, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov instructed the relevant officials to announce a tender for construction of a mud flow diversion channel in the southern part of the Turkmen capital.

In conclusion of the working trip, the Turkmen leader once again underlined the significance of construction of mud flow diversion channels as a part of the long-term programme aimed at ensuring the advanced standards of the engineering and communication system in Ashgabat, its ecological wellbeing and, thus, creating all necessary conditions for dynamic development of the Turkmen capital.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov demanded the relevant officials to take a very serious approach to implementation of the project on construction of a new facility. Wishing success in their work to all those present, the Turkmen leader left the venue.
