Turkmenistan commemorates the first President of Turkmenistan

Turkmenistan commemorated the first President of Turkmenistan S. A. Niyazov on December 21. Prayers were offered up in mosques for the peace of soul of the first President of Turkmenistan Saparmurat Ataevich Niyazov had laid the foundation for independence of our country.

Opening the December 20 meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the great services performed by the President of Turkmenistan Saparmurat Turkmenbashi the Great for the Fatherland would be engraved in the memory of the Turkmen people. The Turkmen leader noted all those wishing could commemorate the first President of Turkmenistan making a pilgrimage to the burial place of the first President of Turkmenistan.

As is known, the first President of our country S.A. Niyazov had laid the foundation for independence of our country. The significant work had been done under his leadership to promote various sectors of the national economy and the national culture. The first President of Turkmenistan cherished the history and spiritual heritage of the Turkmen people. Having led the country for many years, Saparmurat Turkmenbashi took consistent steps to enhance the international prestige of the Turkmen state.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that through the efforts of the first President of Turkmenistan our country had gained the status of neutrality that had played a crucial role in the present epoch in enhancing sovereignty, building up constructive relations with all countries of the world and raising the international prestige of the Motherland.

The high spiritual and moral values uniting people are laid in the Ruhnama scientific and philosophical work created by Saparmurat Turkmenbashi. This work reflects the rich historical and cultural heritage of the Turkmen people, its wise moral principles, original national traditions and high humanistic values.

Following these ancient traditions and customs of our people, its wise phrase “If you revere the living, you will be a rich person, and commemorating the deceased – you will be a moral person” the commemoration ceremonies were held throughout the country on that day for the peace of soul of the first President of Turkmenistan Saparmurat Ataevich Niyazov.

The commemoration ceremony took place in the Kypchak settlement in Ruhabat Etrap, Ahal Velayat. The elders, the mullahs and numerous local citizens went to the burial place of the first President of Turkmenistan and his relatives where the Mufti of Turkmenistan offered up a prayer for the peace of soul of the diseased. After the ceremony, a prayer was offered for the health and long life of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov as well as new accomplishments in his noble work in the name of wellbeing of the native people and further prosperity of the Fatherland in the epoch of might and happiness of the Turkmen state.
