President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers – the first in this year, where it was considered major issues of state life as well as drafts of a series of documents.
In the reports, the vice-chairpersons of the Cabinet of Ministers informed about state of affairs in the spheres they supervise. It was listened to the information on preparation for organization on February 21-23 in Ashgabat of the exhibition of export products of Republic of Turkey, program of upcoming events of international level, including organization of solemnities on the occasion of the international Novruz Bairam as well as state visits of the heads of foreign countries to Turkmenistan planned to the first quarter.
It was informed about lawmaking and social activity of the Parliament, measures for improvement of the activity of institutions of financial, economic and banking systems. Within the framework of reports, it was informed about state of Stabilization Fund, which was created on the initiative of the President of Turkmenistan in 2008. The basis for formation of cash resources of the Fund is the remains of profitable funds of the State Budget.
The President of Turkmenistan approved the proposal on transfer of surpluses of the State Budget to Stabilization Fund urged to provide the guarantees of sustainable, successive economic growth, create real production units owing to financial resources directed to the national and regional investment projects.
Vice-premiers also informed about state of affairs in agro-industrial complex, implementation of seasonal agricultural works, operations on consolidation of banks of Amyderya and Murgap rivers taking into account upcoming spring floods, measures undertaken for creation of essential water reserve in the reservoirs, purification of irrigation systems.
It was informed about activity of the construction industry and power industry, transport complex and communications sector, as well as about New Year’s celebrations held in the country. Vice-premiers informed the head of state about development of cooperation with People’s Republic of China in the sphere of education as well as the program of events planned in Memorial Day – January 12.
It was highlighted the issues related to the state of affairs in oil and gas, chemical and fishing industry, advancement of a series of large investment projects in fuel-energy complex. It was informed about involvement of foreign partners in rendering services for “Turkmengeologiya” State Corporation, particularly in boring of production wells in “Galkynysh” gas field.
Having listened to the reports, the President of Turkmenistan focused attention on the issues of further improvement of the work of cultural sphere, particularly National Cultural Center. The head of state pointed out the necessity to raise the legal status of the Center, reconsider its composition and structure as well as personnel arrangements. The nation leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also underlined the importance of preservation of national values in the museums of the country, gave instructions on arrangement of the work of interlibrary coordinating system, taking into account increasing quantity of libraries.
Emphasizing the significance of scale program of development and modernization of power supply of the country, the head of state underlined its complex, systematic nature. At that, multiple power reserve is initially put into new power supply systems taking into account dynamic development of the capital, applied prospectively.
The head of state underlined important significance of the international project on construction of new North-South transport corridor and concretely, construction of Uzen-Gyzylgaya-Bereket-Etrek-Gorgan railway urged to become original “bridge” between Europe and Asia. Having expressed serious dissatisfaction to core vice-premier in connection with unsatisfactory organization of the activity of a series of structural subdivisions concerning accurate monitoring of realization of transnational project, the head of state demanded to provide timeliness of completion of operations and their high quality.
Speaking about energy strategy of Turkmenistan, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that holding of independent examination of hydrocarbon resources of the deposits opened in the last years as well as technical audit of works realized by foreign partners will contribute to further strengthening of energy potential of Turkmenistan, give the stimulus for development of cooperation.
Further, having noted about a large meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers to be held on January 11 and devoted to the results of the last year, the head of Turkmen state charged the members of the government to analyze once again together with officials of ministries and departments they supervise the plans of operations for 3013.
In the course of the meeting, it was also considered several other issues of state life. According to them, relevant decisions were made.
