President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov conducted a regular video conference with the Chairperson of the Mejlis, cabinet ministers, heads of ministries and departments as well as khyakims of the regions and Ashgabat. The meeting agenda focused on the priority issues in social and economic development of the country and the progress in implementing the important national programmes.
It was reported on the progress of seasonal agricultural activities as well as on the preparations for the Novruz International holiday and other festive events.
It was also reported on the measures taken to reconstruct the existing roads and lay new ones, to increase the efficiency and the paces of works at the construction sites, in particular the work on strengthening the material and technical basis of the Turkmenbashi sea port, building a Specialized Rehabilitation Centre designed for 120 places as well as the progress of construction of a Turkmen section of the North-South International Railroad.
A number of projects on developing the Turkmen capital as well as proposals regarding the place for construction of a new building of the International Turkmen-Turkish University in Ashgabat were presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration.
The Turkmen leader was informed on the existing situation in the financial and banking institutions of the country, the results of work of the public prosecution bodies on observance of legality in all spheres of life and society.
The Chairperson of the National Parliament informed the Turkmen leader of the activities carried out by Turkmen parliamentarians to lay the legal foundations for the ongoing ambitious social and economic reforms and the work on further harmonious development of the state and society.
Paying attention to the agricultural works carried out at present, the Turkmen leader emphasized on the necessity to fulfill the tasks in strict compliance with the agro-technical standards. The President of Turkmenistan underlined the significance of guaranteeing the high quality of objects under construction and putting them into operation in time. In this regard, the Turkmen leader instructed the relevant officials to take the works on successful implementation of the National reformatory programme in Dashoguz Velayat as well as in all regions of the country under the rigorous control. In particular, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov demanded to analyze the work of velayat agricultural joint-stock associations and draft specific proposals on their modification.
Approving a proposal on location of a new building of the International Turkmen-Turkish University, the Turkmen leader instructed the relevant officials to work out the issues regarding further construction.
Underlining the significance of taking the quality new facilities and time frameworks of construction works under the rigorous control, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov focused on construction of highways in the Turkmen capital as well as the other regions of our Fatherland. The President of Turkmenistan expressed dissatisfaction with the work of Chairman of the Turkmenawtoyollary State Concern P. Meredov. The Turkmen leader instructed the relevant officials to ensure the proper road maintenance in the capital and throughout the country as well and increase the paces of work on this sphere.
Noting the international significance of the project on construction of the North-South transnational steel line that is to become a reliable transport corridor between the countries of the Eurasian continent, the President of Turkmenistan spotlighted the necessity of further dynamic modernization of the national railway industry and gave specific instructions to the Minister of Railway Transport.
In conclusion of the meeting, the President of Turkmenistan gave a number of instructions to the meeting participants in the context of successful solution of tasks set to each industry of the national economy and each region.
