President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Yuriy Boyko, who arrived in Ashgabat leading a representative delegation for participation in a special meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Ukrainian Commission on economic cooperation.
During the meeting the Turkmen leader and his guest underlined with satisfaction that within the years of the sovereign development Turkmenistan and Ukraine created a powerful contractual and legal basis. The meeting participants expressed belief in that a state visit of President of Ukraine Victor Yanukovich to Turkmenistan to be paid in the near future would offer a powerful impetus to development of comprehensive, mutually beneficial cooperation between the two states.
The Turkmen leader and his guest specified the fuel and energy sector, trading and economic sphere, metallurgy, transport, municipal engineering, agro-industrial complex and other important areas that are of particular interest for the both countries among the priority areas of cooperation built on the equal long-term basis. Speaking about the mutual aspiration of the countries for enhancing the established dialogue, the President of Turkmenistan and his guest underlined the necessity of searching new forms of the trading and economic collaboration, in particular organization of joint business forums, specialized exhibitions and fairs. Particular attention was paid to cooperation of the two countries in the humanitarian sphere.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Turkmenistan Valentin Shevalev attended the meeting.
