President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan to consider the results of the socio-economic development of the country in January of the current year, the drafts of important documents as well as priority tasks of the state policy life.
The Vice Premiers informed the Turkmen leader that the GDP growth made up 111.1 percent. As compare to the same period of 2012, the foreign-trade turnover increased by 21.4 percent. Within the reporting period, the volume of used investment increased by 38 percent as compare to January, 2012.
As compare to the same period of 2012, the production growth rate made up 112.2 percent. In the reporting period the tax plan was fulfilled. The State Budget was implemented, the revenues -112.2 percent and expenditures – 94.8 percent.
In January, 2013, the budgetary and self-sustained organizations and enterprises were paid off in a timely manner. Within the reporting period the state benefits, pensions and grants were paid. The prices for consumer goods and services provided to local population were maintained according to the established rates.
The growth rates of proceeds at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan made up 109.9 percent, including the proceeds from services rendered – 158.6 percent.
In January, 2013, the industrial production of the Union of Entrepreneurs and Industrialists increased by 44 percent, the agricultural production by 12 percent and the volume of services rendered to local population – by 20 percent as compare to the same period of the last year. In January, 2013, the commodity turnover increased by 10 percent.
The meetings of the Intergovernmental Commissions for trade, economic, scientific and technological cooperation between Turkmenistan and India, Turkmenistan and Qatar as well as Turkmenistan and Ukraine took part in January, 2013. A meeting of the Turkmenistan-UN Strategic Advisory Council took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan on January 31, 2013.
The Vice Premiers reported on the preparations for the spring cotton sowing campaign. Over 80 percent of lands to be sown with cotton were ploughed out. According to the agro-technical standards, the plough-lands are fertilized. The winter crops are treated, fertilized and watered.
The volume of freight traffic in the railway industry made up 115 percent and the density of passenger traffic – 109.7 percent. In January, 2013, the plan for the installation of telephone user parts was fulfilled to 175 percent. The volume of freight traffic by air achieved 139.7 percent, and the volume of passenger transportation – 104.4 percent.
The Turkmen leader was informed on the progress in implementing the national satellite system, on the results of work of the enterprises of the oil and gas, oil processing and chemical industries as well as fishery in January, 2013.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov approved and signed the Resolution drafted in line with the Law of Turkmenistan “On the uniformity of measurements”, signed the Resolutions “On improving the agricultural industry management”, “On construction of a terminal to receive, store and dispatch oil products”.
The other issues of the state policy life were considered and the relevant decisions were adopted during the meeting.
