President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a regular videoconference with the velayat khyakims and the heads of a number of ministries and departments.
The agenda focused on the major objectives of social and economic development, the progress of seasonal agricultural activities and the implementation of the rural development programme and other state policy issues.
According to the State News Agency of Turkmenistan (TDH), the reports focused on the current situation in food industry and the measures taken to promote food production, increase supplies of mineral fertilizer, prepare agricultural machineries for the spring sowing campaign and the tree planting campaign and the current situation in livestock sector. Also, the information on the measures taken in the framework of the rural development programme to develop industrial and social infrastructure in rural areas and the preparations for the opening of economic facilities was presented.
Emphasising the need to carry out seasonal agricultural activities and prepare for the tree planting campaign in a proper manner, the Turkmen leader demanded that agricultural works be done in a timely manner. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov instructed the velayat khyakims to ensure that the tasks to develop rural industrial and social infrastructure were fulfilled and take the necessary measures to hold the festivities and ceremonies in honour of the International Nowruz Day that would be celebrated solemnly and widely in our country.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov focused on the importance of continuing work on modernizing and diversifying industrial infrastructure of the Food Industry Association, increasing output and broadening the range of quality food products. In this context, the Turkmen leader emphasized the need to use fully the potential of food enterprises, in particular Maryseker.
Noting that Turkmenistan should become a model of environment wellbeing, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov focused on the need to adopt science based approaches to environmental protection and gave specific instructions in this regard.
