President of Turkmenistan considers new construction projects

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov considered the 13th stage urban development projects to be implemented in Ashgabat, including a complex of new social and other facilities, and the construction projects developed by the ministries, departments and khyakimliks of the regions and Ashgabat.

A film about the ongoing ambitious changes in the Turkmen capital and the 13th stage urban development projects was demonstrated at the beginning of the presentation. The projects anticipate that a new complex of apartment houses and office buildings is to be built on Oguzkhan Street in the south of Ashgabat.

An architectural ensemble of white-marble high-rise apartment houses with modern conveniences will appear in this part of the Turkmen capital at the request of a number of ministries and departments. Office buildings and other facilities will spring up there as well. A number of 12-storey apartment houses for specialists of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the textile, oil and gas, agricultural, construction, transport and communications sectors, the economic, banking, education, cultural and scientific institutions and law enforcement agencies will be built there. One of the houses will be built at the request of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.

The buildings of two secondary schools for 600 schoolchildren each, two kindergartens for 160 children each and the children’s arts centre will spring up in this part of Ashgabat.

The 13th stage urban development projects provide for the construction of the four-storey building of health centre that will offer a wide range of medical services to 40,000 citizens residing in this part of Ashgabat.

The 13th stage urban development projects provide for the construction of a number of infrastructure facilities, including shopping and consumer services centres that will occupy the ground floors of newly built apartment houses and a three-level parking garage for 200 cars. The project design teams created the conditions conducive to interesting and beneficial leisure and sports activities and physical exercises of Ashgabat citizens: there will be sports fields, playgrounds and outdoor areas for public events in the adjacent territory.

It is planned to build several administrative facilities, including the new office buildings of the State Committee for Tourism, the National Hydrometeorology Committee under the Cabinet of Ministers, the Turkmenhowayollary State National Service, the Kopetdag Etrap Khyakimlik and other organisations and institutions, in this part of the city. The new building of the Ovadan consumer services centre affiliated with the Ashgabathyzmat Association will spring up there.

After considering the 13th stage urban development projects and draft designs of new facilities and their layouts, the President provided specific comments and recommendations particularly on the improvement of adjacent territories and the use of an integrated approach to addressing relevant issues.

The project of new Abadan town developed in line with the Turkmen leader’s instructions and recommendations was presented to the President for consideration during the presentation.

The Turkmen leader considered the construction projects of a number of transport and communication facilities, including the Turkmenabat-Farab railway and highway bridges across the Amu Darya and the international airport in Turkmenabat, and the project on the development and modernization of the Turkmenbashi seaport.

The construction project and layout of the new building of the Printing Office of the Turkmen National Press and Publication Service and the draft designs of the International Novruz Day celebrations to be held in Ahal Velayat were presented to the President for consideration. The layouts of oil and gas facilities, whose construction will be launched this year, and the new proposals for the development of the Avaza national tourism zone, in particular the general layout of a water park with recreation centre and the construction project of the buildings of a 12-storey hotel, shopping centre and cottages, were presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration.

The President considered the construction projects of agro-industrial facilities, including the bread-baking plant with the annual capacity of 14,000 tons in Ashgabat and the ginneries with the annual capacity of 40,000 tons in Ahal and Mary Velayat. The construction project of a new production department of the existing ginnery in Dashoguz Velayat was presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration.

The Turkmen leader considered the projects of the building complex of the International University in Ashgabat, the shopping and entertainment centre, the storehouses of the Main Pharmaceutical Association of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry that will meet the WHO requirements.

The projects of the new buildings of overseas embassies of Turkmenistan and the draft interior and exterior designs of the Government Building under construction in the centre of the Turkmen capital were presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration.

The construction projects of model urban settlements that will spring up in Ahal, Dashoguz, Lebap and Mary Velayat were presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration.

After considering the projects and draft designs and providing specific comments and recommendations, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov demanded that the layout of each facility and building be elaborated so that it could function properly.
