President of Turkmenistan holds a videoconference

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a videoconference with the cabinet ministers, the high-ranking officials of ministries and departments and the Ashgabat Khyakim. The agenda focused on the major aspects and priority short-term objectives in context of the ongoing ambitious development programmes and important domestic policy issues.

The reports on the progress of seasonal agricultural activities, the work done by the divisions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the current state of central, municipal, etrap and velayat libraries were presented. Also, the information on the progress of construction work throughout the country and reconstruction of city highways, the measures taken to accelerate the projects for development and beautification of the capital was presented. Preparation for the celebrations in honour of the national holiday, National Flag Day was reported to be in under way.

Commenting on the reports, the President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of maintaining law and order in the country and the need to effectively coordinate activities of the divisions under supervision. Touching upon the shortcomings in the work of the Turkmen Atlary State Association, the President gave specific instructions in this regard.

President of Turkmenistan relieved A. Oraznazarov of the post General Director of the Turkmen Atlary State Association for the serious shortcomings in his work. Vice Premier A. Yazmyradov received a reprimand for the failure to properly perform his duties and take strict control of the work of the ministries and departments under his supervision. The Turkmen leader noted that the Vice Premier should draw conclusions from what had been said and take immediate measures to remove the shortcomings.

Touching upon the progress in implementing the ambitious tree planting programme, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov focused on the need to further develop and beautify Ashgabat and its suburbs.

The President signed the Decree on the appointment of Deputy Minister of Public Utilities Ya. Annaev as General Director of the Turkmen Atlary State Association. Emphasizing the critical role of the celebrations in honour of the remarkable date in the national calendar, the President demanded that the festivities be held in a proper manner.

Other important issues were considered and the decisions were adopted during the videoconference.
