President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan to consider a number of state policy issues and drafts of important documents.
The floor was given to Executive Secretary of the President’s Office, Vice Premier H. Muhammedov who reported on the work done in the sectors under his supervision and informed the Turkmen leader on the results of work of the Exhibition of export commodities of the Republic of Turkey in Ashgabat.
The President of Turkmenistan underlined the practical significance of this exhibition held annually with the aim to enhance the trading and economic cooperation between the two countries as well as to improve the quality of the commodity circulation structure and introduce new technologies into the production sector of Turkmenistan.
Then, Vice Premier A. Gochyev reported on the progress in implementing the financial and economic reform. In this regard, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov instructed the Vice Premier to monitor and analyze the work done in all areas.
Vice Premier, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan R. Meredov informed the Turkmen leader on the progress in implementing the Concept of the foreign-policy course of our country for 2013-2017. The Vice Premier reported on fulfillment of the Turkmen leader’s instructions regarding opening diplomatic representations and consular services of Turkmenistan in foreign countries.
It was noted that up to date, Turkmenistan has established diplomatic relations with 131 countries all over the world. Twenty nine diplomatic missions and consular services work in foreign countries. Representation offices of thirty states as well as fifteen international organizations successfully work in our country.
The Vice Premier, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reported on the work done to open the Consulate of Turkmenistan in the city of Astrakhan, Astrakhan Oblast of the Russian Federation and the preparations for opening the Embassies of Turkmenistan in Malaysia and Japan as well as the Consulate of Turkmenistan in Frankfort, the Federative Republic of Germany.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov gave specific instructions to the Vice Premier and demanded to take the relevant measures to open the Embassies of Turkmenistan in Malaysia and Japan as well as the Consulate Service of our country in Frankfort, the Federative Republic of Germany.
Chairperon of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan A. Nurberdieva reported on the work done by the Turkmen parliamentarians to improve the national legislation. The Chairperson of the Parliament of Turkmenistan informed President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the preparations for festive events and architectural premiers scheduled for March.
Vice Premier A. Yazmyradov reported on the existing situation in the agro-industrial complex.
Signing the Resolution authorizing the ministries, sectoral departments and khyakimliks of Velayats and Ashgabat to plant three million young trees and vine in the Turkmen capital and all regions of the country, the Turkmen leader underlined the significance of this work given the ecological wellbeing of the country and creation of favourable conditions for the Turkmen people’s life.
Vice Premier A. Egeleev reported on the work done in the transport and telecommunication complexes. Vice Premier Sh. Durdylyev informed the Turkmen leader on the existing situation in the sectors under his supervision and the prospects for their development. Vice Premier S. Toylyev reported on the progress in implementing the State social policy and national programmes on development of science, education, healthcare, sport and tourism.
Vice Premier, Director of the State Agency on Management and Use of Hydrocarbon Resources under the President of Turkmenistan Ya. Kakaev reported on the progress in implementing the project on construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline.
It was noted that during the meeting taken place in Ashgabat on September 23, 2012, the TAPI Steering Committee initiated establishment of a specialized company with the aim to solve the tasks related to practical implementation of the TAPI Project.
The Vice Premier informed the Turkmen leader that all countries participating in the project had supported this initiative. The Vice Premier also noted that Turkmenistan put forward an initiative to hold a regular meeting of the Technical working group to discuss the organizational, legal and technical issues on establishment of the company. The meeting agenda and venue are to be confirmed.
Summing up the report, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov underlined the particular significance of the TAPI Project and noted that this new energy bridge would promote maintaining and strengthening the political and social stability, sustainable development in the whole region, enhancing the ties of friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation between the countries and peoples.
