President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a videoconference with the Vice Premiers, the heads of ministries and departments and public organisations and the khyakims of Ashgabat and the regions of the country. The agenda focused on the implementation of the social and economic development strategy and the ambitious programmes of reforms in the country.
The reports on the progress in field and other seasonal agricultural activities, preparation of agricultural equipment and machines for this year’s sowing campaign and the measures taken to accelerate the construction projects were presented. The report on preparations for the International Conference “Ecology of the Aral Sea: Sustainable Development and International Cooperation” was presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration.
The detailed information on the progress in implementing the tree planting and urban development programmes in Ashgabat as well as in towns and villages of the country and the measures taken to develop the capital city and accelerate the construction projects throughout the country and reconstruction of roads in Ashgabat was presented.
The reports on the measures taken to optimize activities of institutions of the financial and economic bloc and public prosecution bodies, the Central Council of the Women’s Union and the Supreme Chamber of Inspection, improve the judicial system of the country and reform education and science were presented.
The information on the development of the Goknar-2013 Special Action Plan was presented. The Special Action Plan aimed at combating traffic in narcotic drugs is to be implemented from March 1 to November 1, 2013.
The information on the progress in construction of new facilities in the Avaza national tourism zone was presented. The report on the work on certification of all the hotels in Avaza was presented, and the certificate template was presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration.
The report on the current situation in the transport and communications sector and the measures taken to modernize transport and communications enterprises and manage the construction of the Bereket-Etrek section of the North-South transnational transport corridor was presented.
Commenting on the reports and focusing on the issues relating to the implementation of the rural development programme, the President instructed to take the necessary measures to accelerate and enhance the efficiency of the construction projects. The President also emphasized the need to provide tenant farmers with mineral fertilisers in a proper and timely manner and instructed the heads of the regional administrations to properly address the issues relating to land reclamation, repair of rural roads and preparations for the planting of young trees during this year’s yovar. Noting that the Turkmenhimiya State Concern had failed to supply mineral fertilisers to agricultural fields in a proper and timely manner, the Turkmen leader demanded that the shortcomings be eliminated as soon as possible.
The President signed the documents on a number of appointments in the regional administrations during the videoconference.
Focusing on the architectural ensemble of modern Ashgabat, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov instructed to take the necessary measures to transfer the building of the state residence located on Turkmenbashi Avenue under the management of the Ashgabat Khyakimlik and operate it as an apartment house.
Focusing on the quality and schedule of construction, the President said the future apartment building must be ready by March next year and the apartments must be distributed free of charge chiefly among families with eight and more children.
Endorsing the hotel certificate template, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said the general certification of hotels in the Avaza national tourism zone should lay the groundwork for a realistic assessment of the potential for enhancing the quality of hotel services and return on investment as well as developing economically feasible development plans of the seaside resort.
Upon concluding the videoconference, the President wished the participants every success in their work for the benefit of the Motherland and the wellbeing and happiness of the Turkmen people.
