President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a videoconference with the cabinet ministers, the high-ranking officials of ministries and departments and the khyakims of the regions and Ashgabat. The major aspects of the ongoing ambitious development programmes and the important issues of life of the state and society were discussed.
The information on the progress in seasonal agricultural activities, the preparedness of agricultural machines and equipment for the spring planting campaign, the preparations for yovar and the measures taken to ensure an abundance of food products in the country and flood the domestic market with quality and diverse products was presented during the videoconference.
The reports on the development of 25,000 hectares of irrigated lands in Altyn Asyr Etrap and the construction of a water storage reservoir on the Gozganchai River in Kaahka Etrap, Ahal Velayat and a water storage reservoir in Kunya Urgench Etrap, Dashoguz Velayat were presented. The preparations for the upcoming Week of Culture in Avaza, the International Women’s Day and the International Conference “Nowruz is the Festival of Peace and Humanism”, which would be held at the Ruhiyet Palace in Ashgabat on March 21, were discussed.
The information on the measures taken to accelerate the ongoing construction projects in the Avaza national tourism zone in particular, the projects of two restaurants in Gekdere, a hotel for 350 visitors in Dashoguz, the reconstruction and construction of motor roads and arrangement of green areas in the capital was presented. The project of the International University in Ashgabat and the construction site layouts of four-storey apartment houses, four kindergartens and a school in Keshi district were presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration. Also, it was reported that the building of the state residence located on Turkmenbashi Avenue in Ashgabat would be reconstructed so that the comfortable living conditions in new apartments would be created. Commenting on the reports, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov focused on the slow pace of development of social infrastructure in Balkan Velayat and expressed dissatisfaction with the Khyakim’s work in this sphere.
After considering the project of a hotel in Dashoguz and providing comments and recommendations to designers and builders, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov issued the Resolution on the construction of a hotel for 35 visitors in Dashoguz during the videoconference. The Turkmen leader provided some comments and recommendations on the construction and architectural decisions of the International University building.
The President demanded that the issues relating to preparations of the children’s recreation centres in Gekdere for summer holidays be kept under strict control and instructed that preparatory work should be completed before May 1. Emphasizing that Nowruz was an integral part of the universal cultural heritage, the President instructed that the international conference and the celebrations in honour of the International Day of Nowruz should be organized and held in a proper manner and numerous foreign guests would be received according to the best traditions of hospitality of the Turkmen people.
