Solemn opening ceremony of the Week of the Japanese Culture in Turkmenistan was held in Ashgabat. Action organized jointly by the Ministry of Culture of our country and Embassy of Japan in Turkmenistan is aimed at strengthening of mutual understanding of friendly people, expansion of their knowledge about each other.
Week of the Japanese Culture in Turkmenistan is the traditional event. This action of early spring is no mere chance. As is known, the feeling of seasonal prevalence is inherent in Japanese people. This cult is based on nature deification and therefore the change of seasons of the year is apprehended by them as the evidence of eternity, firmness of the universe. Spring in Japan is not only the riot of colors, but also special state of soul, which expression is the image of blooming Japanese cherry tree.
The representatives of the Ministry of Culture, community of the Turkmen capital, diplomatic missions accredited to Turkmenistan, creative intelligentsia, students as well as numerous admirers of the Japanese culture took part in the solemn opening of the action in “Watan” cinema and concert center. Charge d'affaires of Japan in Turkmenistan Mr. Mitsuro Horiguchi expressed the words of greeting to participants and guests of solemn ceremony. He underlined the significance of the current action in strengthening of mutual understanding and ties of friendship of two people, mutual enrichment of cultures and expansion of humanitarian dialogue.
Week of the Japanese Culture was opened with the festival of Japanese films. Its program included the feature and documentary films created by the Japanese cinematographers in various years and familiarizing with the life of the Japanese society, its traditions and customs.
In the foyer of “Watan” cinema and concert center, it was presented the magazines telling about the current day of the Land of the Rising Sun. There are also the pictures of young Japanese residents thematically united with idea to express gratitude to all people of the world for rendering support and assistance to Japan in 2011, when the country endured destructive earthquake.
Japanese movies will be demonstrated in “Watan” cinema and concert center during three days. The residents and guests of the Turkmen capital can visit all film shows free of charge.
The Program of “Week” is quite diverse and also includes the demonstration of traditional Japanese tea ceremony (Sado) and ancient Japanese art of bunch making – ikebana. These events will take place on March 13-14 at the Fine Arts Museum of Turkmenistan. Professor Midori Yamada and her colleague – Professor, President of branch office “Ikenobo” in Moscow Galina Davidenko arrived in Ashgabat for organization of these events.
Within the framework of the Week of the Japanese Culture, a series of events will be held at the Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after D. Azadi. On March 12, the lessons on Origami will be held at the children’s art school named after B. Nurali with participation of the representatives of Embassy of Japan in Turkmenistan.
At that, the Week of the Japanese Culture in Turkmenistan will acquaint the residents and guests of the capital with bright palette of art of friendly people, their original customs and traditions, modern attainments in the field of culture.
