President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation.

During the conversation President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President Vladimir Putin highly evaluated the level of bilateral relations, focusing on the constructive nature of long-term successful partnership and existing tremendous potential that opened up ample opportunities for new promising joint projects.

Emphasis was placed on the important role of the Intergovernmental Commission for economic cooperation in intensifying traditional Turkmen-Russian relations which met modern requirements.

The sides mentioned the fuel and energy, trade and economic, transport, urban development, agro-industrial and many other sector as priority areas of cooperation.

A number of issues of international and regional politics of mutual interest were discussed during the conversation.

Upon concluding the conversation, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov invited his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin to visit Turkmenistan at any convenient time. The invitation was accepted with gratitude. The dates of a visit will be adjusted through diplomatic channels.

The conversation took place at the initiative of the Russian side.
