The President of Turkmenistan cordially congratulated farmers, agricultural workers and citizens of the country in the Harvest Day.
In his congratulatory address the Turkmen leader notes that the Harvest Day embodies outstanding labour victories and evidences the respect for farmers’ hard work. The state provides continuing support for rural workers and creates the conditions conducive to optimizing their work and reaping rich harvests. Bright evidence for this is the measures taken to provide agricultural workers with state-of-the-art, efficient equipment manufactured by world’s leading producers on a regular basis, increase the funds allocated to develop virgin lands and explore new tracts of land, provide mineral fertilizers and high-quality seeds, maintenance service, raise a state procurement price. The drastic reforms and further improvement of the social and economic conditions in rural areas are the priority aspects of the policy of the Turkmen state in this sphere.
The President of Turkmenistan emphasizes that significant steps are taken to develop the agro-industrial sector for this process is indissolubly interrelated with the strengthening of the country’s economic potential. The ongoing agricultural reforms and the deliberate decisions adopted in the agro-industrial sector are aimed at achieving food security and exporting high quality food products manufactured in the Turkmen land.
This year Turkmenistan has ranked for the first time over its history among the countries exporting bread grain to foreign markets. In the year of the 20th anniversary of independence of Turkmenistan cotton growers have gained good results. They have grown over 1.05 million tons of ‘white gold’ this year, and cotton growing associations in velayats, etraps and foremost people in the agricultural industry have significantly contributed to this success.
