Turkmenistan joined the efforts of scientists of the world in study of manuscript heritage

Two-day International Scientific Conference “Manuscripts – primary source for study of national heritage” timed to the 20th anniversary of the National Institute of Manuscripts of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan has completed its work in the Turkmen capital.

In the course of the work of sectional sessions of the conference, it was listened to over 150 reports and scientific presentations. The scientists have discussed vital issues devoted to all-round research of the manuscript heritage, its role and significance in study of history and philosophy, linguistics and literature, medicine, art and architecture of Turkmenistan and Central Asia as a whole.

Having visited scientific and cultural centers, museums of Ashgabat as well as having familiarized with the sights of the Turkmen capital, the conference participants were able to see with their own eyes the scale and depth of socio-economic reforms and progressive transformations, being realized in modern Turkmenistan.

Participants of the conference unanimously spoke for necessity of continuation of fruitful scientific contacts, contributing to deep study of historic-cultural heritage of the Turkmen people, closer relations of people and their cultures for strengthening of peace, friendship and cohesion on the Earth.
