President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has met with President of Islamic Republic of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari, who arrived in Ashgabat for participation in the solemnities devoted to the International Novruz Holiday.

The interlocutors were unanimous in opinion that confidential nature of intergovernmental relations allows Turkmenistan and Pakistan to maintain productive interaction in various spheres, including trade-economic and fuel-energy spheres, construction, agriculture and others. Humanitarian sphere was also ranked among exceptionally important trends of interstate cooperation.

The leaders of Turkmenistan and Pakistan expressed confidence that in the near future, the cooperation will get worthy continuation in scale joint projects. Among major ones it was mentioned the project of construction of the largest energy main of the continent – Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline.
