President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan at the Oguzkhan palace complex in Ashgabat to sum up the work done last week and specify the tasks for the near future.
Among the most important events taken place last week are the International conference “Nowruz is the holiday of peace and humanism”, the talks between the President of Turkmenistan, the president of the Republic of Tajikistan and the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, the Turkmen leader’s meetings with the heads of states, international organisations and foreign delegations who arrived in Ashgabat to participate in the celebrations in honour of the International Day of Nowruz.
In particular, highly appreciating the level of organization of festivities on occasion of the International Day of Nowruz, the Turkmen leader noted that this remarkable date played a significant role in developing international cooperation, the ties of friendship and fraternity as well as popularizing the national traditions and customs.
Underlining that multi-aspect international cooperation is a priority vector for Turkmenistan development the Turkmen leader gave specific instructions to the relevant officials regarding further implementation of the foreign-policy strategy.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that active public work of the Mejlis deputies in their constituencies would strengthen the democratic values and ideals.
During the meeting, Vice Premiers reported on the measures taken to implement the project on construction of a new Printing House in Ashgabat, on reconstruction of the Ashgabat-Turkmenbashi highway and Archabil Avenue. The Turkmen leader was informed on the outcomes of the “2013 Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan” International conference held in Dubai, the UAE, which focused on development of international cooperation in the oil and gas sector.
Speaking about important tasks set to all branches of the national economy, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov gave specific instructions to relevant officials on further development of the textile industry, the sphere of trade and services in compliance with modern requirements, the increase of foreign-trade relations as well as development of new foreign markets.
The Turkmen leader underlined the necessity of speeding up the industrial development of new oil and gas deposits, complex modernization of oil-and-gas production industry and chemical sphere, implementation of measures aimed at increasing production capacities of construction enterprises, the quality and range of construction materials produced in our country.
