On the instructions of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Chairperson of the Mejlis A. Nurberdyeva received credentials from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada to Turkmenistan Mr. John Holmes.
During the meeting the plenipotentiary representative of Canada was briefed of key areas of the domestic and foreign policies and major aspects of the ongoing reform programmes in our country. A focus of talks was the activities of the Mejlis and its role in promoting democratic processes launched in Turkmenistan.
Exchanging views on the prospects of bilateral cooperation, the sides emphasized with satisfaction the positive nature of interstate cooperation and emphasized that there existed the tremendous potential and opportunities to build up fruitful partnership.
