President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a working videoconference meeting with the cabinet of ministers, the heads of ministries and departments and the velayat khyakims. The key areas and objectives of the ongoing ambitious development programmes and the important issues of the state and social policy were discussed during the videoconference.
Before opening the meeting, the Turkmen leader congratulated the Turkmen people on the launch of the Week of Health and Happiness to mark World Health Day.
The meeting participants reported on the activities to take place during the Week of Health and Happiness to mark World Health Day that is celebrated widely in our country.
The President was also informed of the current situation in the health care and medical industries, the progress of construction of various facilities in the regions and the capital.
The heads of the velayat administrations reported on the measures taken to accelerate the pace of work in the industrial sectors and agricultural fields and presented the layouts of new urban settlements, the construction of which would be launched in all the regions of the country in the near future, to the Turkmen leader for consideration.
The Mary Velayat Khyakim reported on the results of the working visit to Herat, the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan paid recently on the instructions of the Turkmen leader. It was noted that the ways to promote cooperation between the regions of the two friendly countries had been discussed during the visit.
The report on the progress of construction of grain elevators and flour milling complexes in the regions, the measures taken to prepare the receiving points, storehouses and grain elevators for the upcoming harvest campaign and vehicles to be engaged in transporting grain from fields to storehouses throughout the country was presented.
The Prosecutor General reported on the fulfilment of the Turkmen leader’s instructions, and the Chairman of the State Commodities and Raw Materials Exchange reported on the activities of the institution.
Commenting on the reports, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized the need to take complex measures for improving the health of citizens, bringing up the physically strong and diligent younger generation and promoting mass physical culture and sports activities and the Olympic movement.
Touching upon the important issues related to construction of the new Clinical Research Centre building, the President, in particular emphasized the need to build the clinic in the city centre and supply it with state-of-the-art equipment. Focusing on the significance of the facility, the President ordered to speed up the work on the tender for the construction of the Centre.
In this context the Turkmen leader instructed to take a thorough approach to determining the number of beds in the new hospital given the rapid growth of Ashgabat and the increase in its population. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov focused on the appropriateness of transferring the old building of the Clinical Research Centre of Maternal and Child Health to the State Medical University as an academic building.
The President also emphasized the need for proper management of construction work in the Avaza national tourism zone and preparation of hotels and recreational centres for the summer season and gave specific indications in this regard.
The President noted that effective measures should be taken to accelerate the pace of agricultural work, emphasizing that particular attention should be paid to preparation of agricultural equipment for the upcoming harvest campaign, proper maintenance and repair of agricultural machines, repair of roads and collection of scrap metal and processing it at the metallurgical works.
