President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers. A number of state policy issues and draft documents were considered during the meeting.

A regular meeting of representatives of the competent authorities of the littoral states to discuss the draft Agreement on Conservation and Sustainable Use of the Bioresources of the Caspian Sea will take place on April 10-12. The first meeting of representatives of the competent authorities of the littoral states to discuss the draft Agreement on prevention of emergency situations in the Caspian Sea and liquidation of their consequences is scheduled for April 17-18.
With the view to implement the Memorandum of Understanding on the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Tajikistan railway project between Turkmenistan, the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and the Republic of Tajikistan the first meeting of the ad-hoc coordinating group consisting of senior officials of the three states will be held on April 18-19. As was reported, the Memorandum was signed during the trilateral summit of the leaders of Turkmenistan, Afghanistan and Tajikistan in Ashgabat on March 20. The preparations for the international events scheduled for April 26-28 to mark Turkmen Horse Day, including the III convention of the International Association of Ahalteke Horse Breeding, the international trade fair and the V International Conference "Turkmen Horses and the Art of World Horse Breeding" are being carried out. The Turkmenistan-US business forum will take place in Ashgabat on April 29-30.
The reports focused on the measures to implement the development programmes in the trade and textile sectors and hold the textile trade fair of Turkmenistan in Dushanbe, the Republic of Tajikistan on April 10-15.
The information on the content and design of the website Heavenly Ahalteke Horses developed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the State News Agency and the Turkmen Atlary State Association to mark Turkmen Horse Day was presented.
The reports focused on the progress in agricultural activities. It was noted that agricultural workers throughout the country were engaged in the cotton campaign and taking care of winter crops. The reports covered the measures to modernize the fuel and energy sector, develop new oil and gas deposits and promote the chemical and fishing industries.
The Vice Premiers reported on the measures taken to build the runway and facilities in the Dashoguz airport, implement the social policy and the national programmes promoting science, education, healthcare, sports and tourism, hold the celebrations in honour of World Health Day on April 7and enhance mutually beneficial cooperation with foreign partners in the fuel and energy sector.
The information on the progress in construction of important buildings and facilities to be put into operation in the near future and the plans for modernization and development of transport infrastructure in Ashgabat was presented.
The President signed the Resolution on the Approval of the Charter of the Editorial Board of the Newspapers Neytralny Turkmenistan and Turkmenistanyn Prezidentinin Metbugat Capary and the Journal Diyar and the Resolution on the Purchase of Mineral Fertilizers by the Turkmenhimiya State Concern and other documents.
Other issues were considered and the decisions were adopted during the government meeting.
