President of Turkmenistan conducts a videoconference

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov conducted a working videoconference meeting with Vice Premier Sh. Durdylyev, the heads of ministries and departments and the velayat khyakims.

The agenda focused on priority aspects of Turkmenistan’s social and economic development, the progress in implementing the ambitious programmes aimed at improving the quality of life of Turkmen citizens and the agricultural campaigns.

The layouts of new urban settlements, which will be built in each region of the country in the near future, were presented to the President for consideration. It was reported that the construction of a new kindergarten for 400 children by the Turkmennebit State Concern in Hazar town on the Caspian seashore had been completed.

The information on the progress in construction and reconstruction of the highways in the capital and throughout the country, including the development of necessary infrastructure, was presented.

The reports on the current situation in the subdivisions of the Turkmenhowayollary State National Service and the involvement of its specialized division in the ongoing agricultural campaign were presented. The information on the fulfilment of the Turkmen leader’s instructions to modernize the material and technical base of the specialized division of the Turkmenhowayollary State National Service and the progress in construction of the North-South transnational railway was presented.

Focusing on the pace of agricultural work, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov demanded that every effort should be taken to hold the cotton campaign in a proper and timely manner. In this context, the Turkmen leader emphasized the need for effective measures to protect agricultural fields from insect pests.

Speaking about the upcoming summer school holidays, the President demanded that children’s recreation centres should be prepared properly to receive young holidaymakers. In this context, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov demanded that children’s centres with the favourable conditions for comfortable recreation and interesting leisure activities of young Turkmen citizens during the summer school holidays should be built in each region of the country.

Touching upon the construction of new urban settlements in all the regions of the country, the Turkmen leader focused on the need to pay close attention to their architectural look and use best practices in that field.

The President emphasized the importance of taking a responsible approach to develop necessary infrastructure, including construction of roads, power transmission lines, water pipelines, communication facilities, etc. Summing up all above mentioned, the President instructed the Vice Premier to draft the necessary documents on the construction of new settlements with the favourable living conditions in the regions of the country.

Touching upon the construction and reconstruction of the highways in the capital and throughout the country, the Turkmen leader noted that the work in that field should meet the quality standards. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that close attention must be paid to every detail – from lighting of autobahns and improvement of adjacent territories to infrastructure facilities, including underground crossings, bus stops, etc.

The Turkmen leader focused on profound international significance of the project of the North-South transnational railway that would be a reliable transit transport corridor between countries of the Eurasian continent and a profitable transportation route and serve as the bridge of friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation between nations and states. In this regard, the President gave specific instructions to modernize the rail industry.

In the conclusion, the President emphasized once again the need for a well thought-out and integrated approach to fulfil the tasks of promoting social and economic development of the country and improving the welfare of the Turkmen people.
