President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a working videoconference meeting with the cabinet of ministers, the heads of ministries and departments and the velayat khyakims.
The key areas and objectives of the ongoing ambitious development programmes and the important issues of the state and social policy were discussed during the videoconference.
It was reported on the measures taken to accelerate the pace of work in the industrial sectors and agricultural fields. The heads of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Agency on Use and Management of Hydrocarbon Resources under the President of Turkmenistan and the State Cattle Breeding Association reported on the existing situation in the spheres under their supervision.
The Turkmen leader was informed that according to the results of elections taken place during the fifth meeting of 65 sessions of the European economic commission of the UN (UNECE) Turkmenistan had been elected a Vice Chairman of the European economic commission of the UN for the two-year period. In compliance with this status, our country will act as a Vice Chairman of the UNECE Executive Committee, a governing body of this authoritative structure.
A draft of the Resolution on holding the first meeting of the Joint Coordination Working Group on implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding between Turkmenistan, the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and the Republic of Tajikistan for the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Tajikistan railway was submitted to the Turkmen leader for consideration.
The President of Turkmenistan was informed on the preparations for the Turkmen Horse Day.
The drafts of the Resolution “On the State cattle breeding association” and document on purchasing combines and spare parts to them were submitted to the President of Turkmenistan for consideration.
It was reported on solution of organizational issues of the newly established Turkmenhaly State Association, the paces of development of the carpet-weaving industry, strengthening its material and technical basis and the measures taken to popularize Turkmen carpets all over the world.
Commenting on the reports, the President focused on the need for a well thought-out approach to the construction works and gave specific instructions in this regard.
The President noted that effective measures should be taken to accelerate the pace of agricultural work, emphasizing that particular attention should be paid to the cotton sowing campaign.
Speaking about election of Turkmenistan a Vice Chairman of the European economic commission of the UN, the President noted that neutral Turkmenistan would continue implementing its constructive foreign-policy strategy aimed at developing wide international cooperation in the name of wellbeing and progress all over the world.
Touching upon the important issues related to creation of all necessary conditions for drivers and pedestrians, in particular construction of underground passages and other facilities, the President signed the Resolution “On reconstruction of the Archabil Avenue in Ashgabat” and gave specific instructions in this regard.
The Turkmen leader also emphasized the need for further improve of work of the Home Affairs agencies. Particular attention should be paid to the highway safety.
Underlining the importance of the project on construction of a drain channel in Ashgabat, the President of Turkmenistan set the priority tasks to the relevant officials and demanded to preserve tax remissions to the CA Interbudmontazh till completion of construction works.
The President focused on the need for speeding up the commercial operation of large hydrocarbon deposits discovered within the last years on the territory of the country and noted that implementation of projects in this sphere was stipulated by the strategic plans of Turkmenistan on increasing the volumes of supply of Turkmen energy resources to world markets as well as diversification of the export routes.
In this regard, the President instructed Vice Premier to go to Mary Velayat on a working visit and stay there till the end of May in order to ensure all necessary measures to put the objects into operation according to the schedule.
