President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov conducted a working videoconference meeting with the cabinet ministers, the heads of ministries and departments concerned and the velayat khyakims.
The measures taken to improve the standards of living of Turkmen citizens, the progress in agricultural seasonal activities and the preparations for the summer school holidays were considered and a number of documents were signed during the meeting.
The khyakims (the heads of administration) reported on the measures taken to fulfil the Turkmen leader’s instructions to improve the social and living conditions and prepare for the grain harvest campaign and the progress of construction work in the regions. The khyakims of Ahal and Balkan Velayat presented the layouts of children’s recreation centres to be built in the territory of the regions to the Turkmen leader for consideration.
Touching upon the progress of seasonal agricultural work, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized the need for proper care of agricultural areas when preparing for the grain harvest campaign and optimizing the activities of receiving points and instructed to ensure that vehicles, combine harvesters and other agricultural machines to be engaged in the important agricultural campaign would be ready for work.
Focusing on the need to properly prepare for the summer school holidays, the Turkmen leader instructed to take timely and effective measures to implement the projects of children’s recreation centres and monitor the quality and schedule of construction of grain elevator sin the regions.
The Turkmen leader relieved K. Gulbaev of the post of Saparmurat Turkmenbashi Etrap Khyakim in Dashoguz Velayat for grave shortcomings in his work and appointed A. Gyrlyev to the post. The President issued the relevant decrees during the meeting.
Vice Premier S. Toilyev reported on the results of work in the sectors under his supervision and the measures taken to promote the physical training and sport movement in the country. In particular, emphasis was placed on the promotion of football, organisation of football tournaments and encouragement of football teams to participate in the competitions. The Vice Premier reported on the measures taken to properly organize the summer school holidays.
Commenting on the report, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized the need to optimize the ongoing activities in the scientific, sport and tourism sectors. The Turkmen leader also emphasized the need for an integrated approach to prepare children’s recreation centres for the summer season.
The President gave specific instructions to the Vice Premier to explore the opportunities to involve countries which are not members of the Olympic Council of Asia in the Asian Games which Ashgabat would be hosting in 2017 and find an adequate solution.

He presented the new construction projects to the President for consideration, in particular the revised project of a filling station in the Turkmen capital, and reported on the measures taken to reconstruct and modernize the highways in Ashgabat.
