President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan General of the Army Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a meeting of the State Security Council in the building of the Department of Civil Defence and Rescue Operations of the Ministry of Defence to consider the work done by the military and law enforcement agencies for the four months and identify specific measures to further optimize their activities.
Opening the meeting, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted with satisfaction that pursuing the policy of peace, good neighbourliness and wide international cooperation, Turkmenistan moved forward with confidence along the chosen path expanding the geography of friends and business partners each year. The Turkmen leader emphasized that independent Turkmenistan like any sovereign state implementing the social and economic development programmes should continue to strengthen national security and military capacity that stand as a reliable stronghold of a constructive and happy life of the Turkmen people and their confidence in the future. In this regard, emphasis was placed on particular importance attached to professional training and improvement of combat skills of the defenders of the Fatherland. The members of the State Security Council reported on the fulfilment of the Turkmen leader’s instructions, the current situation in the agencies under their supervision, progress of the ongoing military reform and the measures taken to maintain law and order in the country.
The President signed the Resolution on the appointment of Police Lieutenant Colonel M. Geldiev Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and relieved him from the post of Chief of the Balkan Velayat Police Department and the appointment of Police Major Sh. Ishangulyev Chief of the Balkan Velayat Police Department. In accordance with Articles 25, 54, 72 and 82 of the Law on the Court the President signed the Decree on the Appointment and Dismissal of Judges of Courts of Turkmenistan and Conferment of Qualifying Ranks.
The members of the State Security Council reported on the fulfilment of the Turkmen leader’s instructions and the current situation in the agencies under their supervision.
Commenting on the reports, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan General of the Army Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed satisfaction with the progress of the military reform which covered a number of aspects including modernization of the national army, improvement of combat training and professional skills of military servants and creation of the favourable conditions of service and recreation for military servants and their families. In this regard, the Turkmen leader gave specific instructions to the members the State Security Council to meet with the requirements, in particular intensify patriotic and educational activities and effectively deploy personnel which directly contributed to the success of all undertakings.
