President of Turkmenistan conducts a videoconference

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a working videoconference meeting with the cabinet ministers, the khyakims of Ashgabat and the regions and the high-ranking of ministries and departments. The priority issues relating to seasonal agricultural activities, in particular the harvest campaign, and the implementation of the social and economic development programmes were considered.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov raised the issues relating to traffic safety and instructed to organize and held appropriate activities in the spirit of the Global Road Safety Week.

The President instructed to hold the Road Safety Month in September, including lessons in road safety at schools, educational, preventive and awareness raising actions, special radio and television programmes and periodical publications. The Turkmen leader noted that the international organisations concerned and the UN agencies, the initiatives of which Turkmenistan supports with practical steps, should be involved in organizing and holding the campaign.

The reports on the fulfilment of the Turkmen leader’s instructions to form the new districts in Ashgabat were presented. The Turkmen capital is rapidly growing and expanding, its population is increasing and the city is widening its boundaries that adjoin the suburbs. In this regard, the Turkmen leader instructed to consider the possibility to join the districts of Ruhabat Etrap and other settlements adjacent to Ashgabat and form the new districts in the capital city. The reports covered the progress of development of the Galkynysh gas field in Mary Velayat and drilling of new wells in the region and the implementation of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline project.

The draft resolution on the creation of forest belt and park area in the Avaza national tourism zone was presented to the President for consideration. It was noted that large-scale planting activities would be carried out in an area of 76 hectares to the north of the manmade river that flew across the seaside resort. Four parking lots and other infrastructure facilities are to be built there.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov focused on the need to speed up the implementation of the TAPI project. Emphasizing that developing multi-variant network to transit energy to world markets was a key aspect of Turkmenistan’s energy strategy, the Turkmen leader gave specific instructions to put a number of facilities into operation in the Galkynysh gas field.

The Turkmen leader signed the Resolution on the creation of forest belt and park area in the Avaza national tourism zone and gave specific instructions to implement it, in particular to select young trees so that they would grow well in climatic and soil conditions of the littoral region and blend well with the local natural landscape.

The reports spotlighted the results of the business trips to Baku (Azerbaijan Republic) to participate in the World Economic Forum and to Dubai (United Arab Emirates) to participate in the III International Investment Forum where the Turkmen delegation had made the presentations on Turkmenistan’s investment potential and its experience in attracting investments and promoting the private sector in our country.

The Turkmen leader ordered to begin preparatory work for construction of a horse breeding complex in Ruhabat Etrap in Ahal Velayat. Focusing on the need to open the training and methodology centre under the Ashgabat equestrian sport complex and build the quarantine and veterinary centre, the President emphasized the importance of fulfilling the assigned tasks. The khyakims (the heads of the administrations) reported on the preparation for the harvest campaign and agro-technical activities in cotton fields and the progress of construction of buildings and facilities in the regions. ts and layouts of children’s recreation and entertainment centres to be built in Ahal, Dashoguz, Lebap and Mary Velayat were presented to the President for consideration.

Commenting on the reports, the President emphasized the need to hold the harvest campaign and agro-technical measures in a proper and timely manner and ordered to organize the Victory Day celebrations at the highest level.

Commenting on the projects of children’s recreation and entertainment centres, the President provided some comments and recommendations on them and ordered to announce the tender for the construction of the centres.

In conclusion the President focused once again on the importance of the issues discussed which were of great importance for the progressive social and economic development of the country and a prosperous and dignified life of its citizens.
