President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbaev attended the ceremony of putting the Turkmen-Kazakh section of the Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran transnational railway into operation.
The Presidents of the two states headed to the administration building of the Joint Stock Company “Kazakstan Temir Joly National Company”. The heads of the railway sectors of the two states made a presentation of the transit and transport potential of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.
With the permission of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbaev, the Uzen – the state border of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan was put into operation.
Then, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbaev headed to the VIP-coach at the Bolashak railway station.
The members of the government delegations of the two countries cordially greeted the leaders of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan at the State border. Among the participants of the solemn ceremony were the representatives of the diplomatic corps, leading foreign companies and mass media.
President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbaev headed to the pavilion erected at the butt joint of the Turkmen-Kazakh section of the North-South transnational railway.
Addressing those present at the ceremony, the leaders of the two states put the interstate fiber-optic communication line laid between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan into operation.
Then, the moment of history occurred. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbaev bolted ‘the golden binding’ of the rails of the transnational railway.
Giving the symbolic start to the railway movement along the new transport artery, the leaders of the two states headed to the train that brought the Presidents to the Serhetyaka railway station across the Turkmen-Kazakh border.

Then, the leaders of the two states headed to the conference hall to participate in the solemn ceremony of opening of the Bereket station on-line.
Congratulating the people of Bereket on opening of the new railway station and wishing them success, prosperity and health, the Presidents of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan expressed deep gratitude to all those who had taken part in construction of this railway.
An official reception was given in honor of opening of the new Turkmen-Kazakh railway with participation of the leaders of the two states.
Masters of culture and art of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan performed a concert dedicated to the friendship between the people of the two states.
Then, the leaders of the two states bade farewell to those present and headed to the helipad. Bidding farewell to each other, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbaev wished peace, prosperity and wellbeing to the fraternal peoples of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan expressing belief in that the fruitful Turkmen-Kazakh cooperation would successfully develop.
