Highly appreciating the high level of the intergovernmental relations that have received a new content within last years, the participants called for further strengthening of the Turkmen-American partnership and, in particular, in the sphere of development of museum and librarian science. The prospects on participation of American scientists in projects on preservation, study and restoration of historical and cultural monuments of Turkmenistan were discussed during the meetings.
That day, in the evening an official reception took place in the Meridian International Centre to mark the opening of the decorative and applied arts exhibition. American students demonstrated keen interest in the cultural life of Turkmenistan, the system of education in artistic universities in Turkmenistan, national traditions associated with music, dance, fine arts, architecture and theatre. The members of the Turkmen delegation told that art and culture in our country had got a second wind in recent years. National opera has been revived in the country, symphonic music and circus arts have received a new incentive to develop today. Magnificent buildings of museums, theatres, libraries, children’s art schools have been built and opened in big cities.
Turkmenistan has become the recognized centre to host international music, folk and theatre festivals, exhibitions, scientific conferences on literary and spiritual heritage, which involve the envoys of the United States.
