By tradition, the Turkmen delegation, including workers of culture and art, scientists, specialists of the sphere of education as well as representatives of artistic and public organisations, takes part in the festivities dedicated to the creative work of Magtymguly Fraghi and Dovletmammed Azady. Within the framework of the cultural event, the representatives of our country make a pilgrimage to the burial places of the great Turkmen classic poets in the Golestan Province, the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The cultural events scheduled for May 17 include performances of prosaists and poets dedicated to the poetical and philosophic heritage of Magtymguly Fraghi and Dovletmammed Azady, whose works were included into the treasury of the world literature reflecting their humanistic views that deeply influenced on the life of Turkmens in XVIII-XIX centuries and the peoples of the East as well.

The visit of the Turkmen delegation to Iran each year vividly proves the importance that the leaders of the two friendly states pay to strengthening and developing good neighbourly relations, widening the Turkmen-Iranian cooperation, including in the cultural and humanitarian sphere. In this context, the cultural event will symbolize the inviolability of the centuries-old ties of friendship and neighbourliness based on historical and cultural relations between the peoples of Turkmenistan and Iran.
