President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad had a telephone conversation.
Taking an opportunity, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad congratulated his Turkmen colleague on the Constitution Day and Day of Revival, Unity and Magtymguly’s Poetry as well as on putting the Turkmen-Kazakh section of the Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran transnational railway into operation.
Thanking for the kind words, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed deep gratitude for the cordial welcome provided to the Turkmen delegation, which had made a pilgrimage to the burial places of the great Turkmen classic poets in the Golestan Province, the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The leaders of the two states specified the fuel and energy complex, trade and economic sphere, construction, transport communications, etc. among the priority areas of the bilateral cooperation.
Upon concluding the telephone conversation, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad exchanged best wishes to the peoples of Turkmenistan and Iran and expressed belief in that the relations between Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran would successfully develop further for the benefit of the two neighbouring nations based on the age-old traditions of friendship and good neighbourliness, mutual respect and equality.
