The Institute of Language and Literature named after Magtymguly of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan prepares for publication the two collections of the poems of Magtymguly Fragi in the Russian and Chinese languages.

As the personnel of the Institute told, the specialists from two universities – the Chinese Central National University located in Beijing and University of Xinjiang province (Urumqi) assist them in translation into the Chinese language. In the course of cooperation, the Chinese translators open for them a great power of the word of Magtymguly. They say: “Your poet is inferior to our Confucius in wisdom”.

Poetry of Magtymguly was translated into many European languages. The collection of over 30 poems of Magtymguly was first published in the German language by the Hungarian scientist-traveler A. Vamberi. In honor of the 250th anniversary of Magtymguly, it was published the gift jubilee brochure in 15 languages. Today, a task was set before poets-translators: to be as close as possible to the original in translations of Magtymguly in order that the word of the poet clearly opens the spirit of the Turkmen people.
