President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Editor in Chief of the Guinness World Records Book Craig Glenday, who had arrived in the Turkmen capital with a mission of honour – to award the diploma to Ashgabat for the highest concentration of white marble buildings in the city.

As a sign of deep respect and personal sympathy, the Editor in Chief of the Guinness World Records Book presented a valuable gift to the Turkmen leader – the rare issue of the first publication of the book dated to 1955, when the very first edition of the Guinness Book of Records (as it was called then) was published.

“We are impressed with the attention the world community pays to the achievements of the Turkmen sovereign state that has kept the high paces of the social and economic development under the difficult economic conditions in the world and has ranked among the countries with dynamically developing economies”, said President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

“I’m happy that thanks to the Guinness World Records Book published in 20 languages in more than 100 countries in the world, the wide international audience will learn more about the successes achieved by the rapidly developing Turkmen state”, noted Mr. Craig Glenday wishing President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov new accomplishments in implementation of new grandiose projects initiated by the Turkmen leader.
