President of Turkmenistan conducts a videoconference

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov conducted a working videoconference with the Vice Premiers, the heads of ministries and departments, the khyakims of the regions and Ashgabat to consider the progress in implementing the social and economic development strategy and the national programmes.

The reports on the current situation in agricultural lands, in particular the progress in the harvest campaign, agricultural activities in cotton fields and cocoon production, were presented during the videoconference. The information on the progress in construction of important facilities and the preparation for the remarkable dates was presented during the videoconference.

The report on the results of the inspection conducted in the Avaza national tourism zone before the summer holiday season was presented. The detailed information on the results of the business trip made to the Republic of Belarus on May 31 to participate in a regular meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government on the Turkmen leader’s instructions was presented.

The information on the progress in implementing the Oil and Gas, Chemical and Fishing Industry Development Programme for 2012-2016 and the measures taken to increase the production of oil and gas, petrochemicals and fertilizers and promote a number of the ambitious investment projects aimed at the enhancing the export capacity of the basic sectors of Turkmen economy was presented during the videoconference. The reports spotlighted the measures taken to implement the Accounting and Audit Reform Programme, the State Programme to promote insurance activities in Turkmenistan for 2011-2015 and the State Programme to develop the securities market in Turkmenistan for 2012 -2016.

The reports highlighted the progress in implementing the National Programme for the improvement of the social and living conditions in villages, settlements, towns in etraps and etrap centres for the period until 2020.

The information on the preparation for the opening ceremonies of facilities and buildings in Garlyk settlement in Koitendag Etrap, Lebap Velayat, the measures taken to modernize the Armed Forces and the current situation in the transport sector was presented during the videoconference.

In particular, it was reported that a new Boeing passenger aircraft had arrived in our country under the contract concluded with the world-renowned aircraft manufacturer in accordance with the Resolution of the President of Turkmenistan. The reports also covered the preparation for the ceremony of launching construction of Turkmenistan’s section of Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Tajikistan railway.

The issues relating to the adoption of new approaches to develop the trade and textile sectors, increase trading volume and improve trade structure and promote horse breeding were considered during the videoconference. In particular, the reports spotlighted the results of the business trip to the French Republic on May 25-27 where the Turkmen delegation had attended the 81st General Session of the World Assembly of Delegates of the World Organisation for Animal Health.

The project for the restoration of the Garagoyunly Mausoleum located near Yerevan (Armenia) and the layouts and draft designs of social and cultural faculties to be built in the Turkmen capital were presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration.
