The leaders of the neighbouring friendly states, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai and President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon are arriving in Turkmenistan for a working visit.
Together with their Turkmen counterpart, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov the distinguished guests will participate in two significant events – the ceremony of launching construction of Atamyrat-Ymamnazar-Akin section of Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Tajikistan railway, which will take place in Atamyrat town, and the opening ceremony of Garlyk village in Koitendag Etrap, Lebap Velayat.
The Memorandum of Understanding on the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Tajikistan Railway Project between Turkmenistan, the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and the Republic of Tajikistan designed to facilitate mutually beneficial partnership of three neighbouring countries in the transport sector was signed in Ashgabat on March 20 after the trilateral summit.
The new railway is to be a key link of the future transport corridors between Asian countries and a testimony of the mutual intention and willingness of the neighbouring countries to promote cooperation for the benefit of all.
There is no doubt that the trilateral summit in Ashgabat will give new incentives to foster a constructive political dialogue and build up trade and economic relations and traditional cultural and humanitarian contacts between the neighbouring nations.
