President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired an enlarged meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, during which priority policy issues and objectives were considered. The major agenda items included the preparations for the celebrations to mark the Day of Cultural and Art Workers and the Week of Culture of Turkmenistan. Various events, including those to be held in the Avaza national tourism zone on an international scale, will take place in the framework of this large-scale cultural action.
Opening the meeting, the President gave the floor to Vice Premier B. Nurmyradova, who reported the events to take place throughout the country to mark the Day of Cultural and Art Workers.
Inviting the Turkmen leader to participate in the activities during the Week of Culture and the ceremonies of opening new facilities in the Avaza national tourism zone, the Vice Premier reported in detail on the Week events programme.
The Vice Premier reported that the new website dedicated to Turkmen culture had been revised to implement the Turkmen leader’s recommendations. The site was designed by the State News Agency to mark the professional holiday of Turkmen workers of culture and art.
It was noted that the website aimed to provide information support to the Week of Culture to be held in Turkmenistan for the first time. In this regard, the materials about the Avaza national tourism zone were placed on the website to diversify its thematic content in accordance with the recommendations of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
Addressing the cabinet ministers and all those present, the President congratulated them and in their person Turkmen cultural and art workers on the upcoming Week of Culture and the Day of Cultural and Art Workers. The President focused on the sustained development of this sphere that the state provided substantial support to. The Turkmen leader noted that this support was reflected in not only the ideological aspect, but also the financing of large-scale projects and the investment in this sector which contributed to enriching our cultural life that tended to be rich in content and abundant in exciting events, including those of international importance.
Vice Premier A. Gochyev reported that Turkmenistan had achieved qualitatively new targets in all the sectors of the national economy during a short historical period thanks to the balanced macroeconomic policy implemented under the guidance of the leader of Turkmenistan. A weighty argument for the effectiveness of the political strategy pursued by the leader of Turkmenistan that moved Turkmenistan forward the foreground among most dynamically developing countries of the world was the election of Turkmenistan as a member of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) for 2013-2015 in November 2012 and Vice-President of the Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) for a two-year term until April 2015 in April 2013. The election of Turkmenistan as Vice-President of the 68th session of the UN General Assembly with unanimous support of 193 UN Member States evidenced the increasing prestige of the Turkmen state in the international arena.
