The colourful marathon of the Week of Culture that took place on the Caspian seashore involving thousands of cultural and art workers of our country: artists, craftsmen, singers, musicians, writers, filmmakers, film and theatre actors, folk groups, amateur ensembles from all the regions and foreign guests – artists, custodians and successors of the traditions of folk arts and crafts and famous singers.

An exhibition of the works created by Turkmen and foreign artists during their stay on the Caspian seashore was arranged on the final day of the Week of Culture at the new recreation centre Sowhun built for Turkmen cultural and art workers. The exhibition arranged in the square in front of the Sowhun cultural and entertainment centre became some kind of panorama reflecting the art festival in numerous graphic sketches, lyrical watercolours and tempera paintings.

A conference with the participation of Turkmen and foreign workers of culture and arts was held. They summed up the Week of Culture and the activities held in the framework of this large scale cultural action. Those speaking at the conference noted that the art festival held on a grand scale illustrated the spiritual uplift of the Turkmen society and its tremendous creative potential as well as significantly fostered an international dialogue in the language of art.

The closing ceremony of the Week of Culture took place on the stage in front of the Akmaya restaurant that towers like a snow-white liner over the Avaza River. Popular Turkmen soloists, young singers – the rising stars of the Turkmen stage, winners of national and international art competitions, dance ensembles and folk groups from all over the country and young artists performed a gala concert in the evening.

The final concert was not a farewell, but a promise new discoveries and joyous experiences. The Week of Culture will bring cultural and art workers together again in the ancient land of Dashoguz Velayat next year.
