President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received a representative of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, a member of the Board of Directors of the EBRD, Director for Switzerland, Ukraine, Liechtenstein, Turkmenistan, Montenegro, Serbia and the Republic of Moldova, Mr. Werner Gruber.
An exchange of views on the prospects and possibilities for enhancing cooperation in the framework of the ongoing ambitious reforms in our country took place during the meeting. The President noted that the study of the practices of Europe’s and the world’s major banks and the introduction of advanced methods for financial management were of particular importance for Turkmen specialists today. The guest focused on the need to strengthen existing contacts and enhance business partnership, emphasizing that the key factors contributing to this interest included the tremendous economic and resource potential of the country. The priority areas for cooperation included the banking and financial sector, promotion of cooperation with the private sector and facilitation of the economic integration of the Turkmen state through financing new projects, including those aimed at developing modern transport infrastructure.
